The 360° Swivel Stool is a redesign of the standard office chair. It is neither a stool nor a chair but was inspired by the various seating positions that Grcic’s studio assistants assumed throughout the day. This unique design consists of a crossbar where one can sit, perch, or lean, with a low backrest providing support. It is intended for activities that involve movement and a variety of positions during the workday, rather than for long periods of sitting in front of the computer. Grcic imagined the 360° Swivel Stool being used in the studios of designers and architects, as well as in salons or barbershops. Its five-star metal base with casters indicates its function, and a footrest at the base is marked like a compass, illustrating the chair’s ability to spin 360 degrees, as its name suggests.
