Supports Cognitive Function. Magnesium threonate is essential for maintaining between-cell signaling and promoting the growth, maturation and survival of neurons and their networks. Magnesium threonate crosses the blood-brain barrier and boosts the production of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a protein that promotes the survival and growth of neurons.
